- Description
- The Centre for Complex Systems brings together top researchers from across the University to promote research and education across physics, engineering, mathematics, biology and social sciences. We are made up of experts from the faculties of Engineering and Information Technologies, Science, Architecture, Design and Planning, Agriculture and Environment, the Charles Perkins Centre and the CSIRO. We study the properties and applications of complex systems in various contexts including brain dynamics, computational neuroscience, critical phenomena, distributed computation, epidemic modelling, imaging and nanoscience. Research outcomes have an impact on diverse areas such as crisis forecasting, disaster and emergency management, epidemic modelling, organisational and social risk management as well as communication, power and transport infrastructure stability.
