2.1 Unit 2 Video » Reproducibility, Replicability and Other Challenges in Science
Learning goals:
This second unit introduces the learner to concepts of reproducibility, replicability, and a number of challenges or problems related to incentives in scientific research. Outcomes of this unit will be:
(1) knowledge of a number of concepts related to replicability and reproducibility,
(2) having had an overview of recent replication projects,
(3) knowledge of Questionable Research Practices (QRPs), including HARKing (Hypothesizing After Results are Known) and the role played by current incentives in scientific research, and
(4) knowledge of some of the initiatives aiming at changing incentives faced by researchers.
