Technical Issues
I uploaded my project early enough the deadline, I review three peer projects, yet as of today reviewing is closed and I didn't get my project reviewed.
What can I do? I'm done with exams and all, but this project evaluation.
i am experiencing the same issue with the same conditions.
So do I! The problem? I have a certificate of successful completion but no review of my project!
Same!
Seems to be a common issue. Perhaps *many* more people submitted than did reviews?
Looks like this issue has been resolved!
I am not getting three files for peer review.
When I clicked on "View Your Submission(s)" There were three ZIP files: One is my own model, One ZIP file is empty, One ZIP file has a model for me to review. I somehow got another one and reviewed it too.Is "View Your Submission(s)" supposed to be the model I submitted for review or the models assigned to me for peer review? Both types were downloaded when I clicked on that link.
Hi James, there's a step by step tutorial video for the peer review system in Unit 4, you should find all answers to your questions there.
Anyone else had trouble uploading a .nlogo file for the assignment? It is 20kb... am I missing something? I keep getting 'the change you wanted was rejected'
thanks :)I too got the same message! My file is also around 20kb (18.4 kb )
It's a web-browser issue! As someone else mentioned, it worked with Google chrome!!!
Ah thank you, I didn't think of that as I didn't have problems last time! I used firefox and it worked :) thanks so much for the reply
Hello!
I know this is a very specific question, but I hope it's okay to share it here, because I don't know what else to do.
So I am building my model for the final assignment, and the SETUP button in the interface tab doesn't work. I have checked the setup section in the code tab, and it seems fine, and Netlogo doesn't warn me about any mistakes, that I need to correct. So what do I do? I have tried to look it up online, but there is no helpful ressources. I know it's hard to help out, when you don't have the code, but maybe others have experienced the same issue?
Thank you very much for any help in advance!
Best,
KamillaHi,
Cut&paste the code of the Setup Function in a temporary file
Set the color of the breed to red in setup (set color red)
Click on the setup button and Check Every breed turn red
Now comment the previous line and add the command saved in the temporary file one by on. Check the behavior after each addition of code.
This technique is called debugging a piece of code.
Regards
Hi,
This is Muttaki. I am learning NetLogo and ABM with you. The autocomplete feature is very handy, how do I turn it on in NetLogo 6.4.0.? Please kindly let me know. I just picked up learning it again.
I cannot see assigment deadlines for this iteration of the course under the FAQ. From the error message reported "Events from one or more calendars could not be shown here because you do not have the permission to view them" it looks like a permission issue.
Hi Maurizio, the assignment deadlines are as follows:
Assignment 1. 07/14 (and 07/21 for peer reviews)
Assignment 2. 08/11 (and 08/25 for peer reviews)
We're working on fixing the calendar issue.
Best,
K.We fixed the calendar issue, it's showing all important dates now.
There are two assignments that are required to complete the course. The first one will be announced on July 1 (with Unit 4) and its deadlines are July 14 for the assignment and July 21 for the peer reviews. The second assignment will be announced on July 15 (with Unit 6) and its deadlines are August 11 for the assignment and August 25 for the peer reviews.
Hi, just for the sake of clarity: what is the precise due date and time for the first assignment? On the google calendar and here on the forum I read July 14, but the assignment page states July 15 at 5:59 PM CEST (see https://www.complexityexplorer.org/courses/183-introduction-to-agent-based-modeling/segments/18142 )
The deadline is July 14 23:59 anywhere on earth = July 15 5:59 CEST
Many thanks for the clarification, and apologies for my Eurocentrism :-)
The sound quality seems to be getting quite bad. By Unit 4, the sound is very tinny and difficult to understand.
I do have a hearing problem but if one compares the quality of the audio of the first video in Unit 1 to the first video in Unit 4 it will be obvious.
I would normally defer to the subtitles, but there have been no English subtitles available since Unit 2.
Compare Unit 1 first video to Unit 4.3
Hi Pierre, thank for letting us know, we will look into that.
In Unit 4 the sound is truly awful. It is really hard to understand. The videos should at least have proper subtitles.
Hi Ronald, thank for letting us know, we will look into that.
I'm working on Windows 11. I saw that there is a hosted version of R in the cloud. I prefer using Python so don't want to invest too much time learning R so I'm trying that. But when I go to open my file I at first got an error that said: Error: '\U' used without hex digits in character string (:1:21) This was after I did:
data = read.csv("C:\Users\mdebe\OneDrive\Desktop\Agent Based Modeling\Diffusion Model\Diffusion 4 social-influence-experiment-table.csv", skip = 6, stringsAsFactors = FALSE)I saw on Stack Overflow the problem was probably I need to use double slashes. Did that:
read.csv("C:\\Users\\mdebe\\OneDrive\\Desktop\\Agent Based Modeling\\Diffusion Model\Diffusion 4 social-influence-experiment-table.csv", skip = 6, stringsAsFactors = FALSE)Then got error: Error: '\D' is an unrecognized escape in character string (:1:86)
I found a work around for this: I just put the files on Github and use the URL. Still would like to know how to access files from Windows
Hi,
I am trying to submit my assignment for peer review, however it turns an error page ("THE CHANGE YOU WANTED WAS REJECTED.").
I have tried to submit my assignment the first time but I could not load the page. Maybe my previous attempt is creating the problem? Anyone?
Luca
Hi, I checked and there's no submission from you in the system, could you please send a screenshot of the error to abm@complexityexplorer.org?
Sent! Thank you very much.
update: I tried again with Google Chrome and it worked! (I was using Safari)
Great, I'm glad it worked, thanks for letting me know.
I enrolled into the course a few days late. I hope that won't be an issue in any way? sorry just confirming.
Hi Garvit, that's not an issue at all the course is self paced, welcome!
Dear all,
I seem to have the same issue as Maurizio, the google calendar gives the same error message as in the case of Maurizio.I also have the same problem
Hi, the assignment deadlines are as follows:

I fear it is not really ot totally fixed as I have the following error

Intro to Agent-Based Modeling 2024
Les événements d'un ou plusieurs agendas n'ont pas pu être affichés ici, car vous n'êtes pas autorisé à y accéder. Can't see the calendar either.
Assignment 1. 07/14 (and 07/21 for peer reviews)
Assignment 2. 08/11 (and 08/25 for peer reviews)Does this mean that we have to submit within the time-window between the 14th and the 21st?
As of 2024-06-16, the calendar problem is not fixed for me. I still get the message "Events from one or more calendars could not be shown here because you do not have the permission to view them." I have tried viewing the calendar in Firefox and Chrome on a desktop computer and in Chrome on my phone. Essentially the same problem in all cases.
I'll look deeper into the calendar issue. Meanwhile here are the deadlines:
There are two assignments that are required to complete the course. The second assignment will be announced on July 15 (with Unit 6) and its deadlines are August 11 for the assignment and August 25 for the peer reviews.Hi all, this should now be fixed. If you are still not able to access the calendar you may also use the following link (which is posted below the calendar in the FAQs section as well): https://tinyurl.com/ABM2024cal
It is fixed for me.
Hi,
A basic Image of the calendar could solve the problem quickly...
Think of it.Regards
The "Introduce Yourself" and "Unit 1 Forum" links in the "Lectures" tab (listing all lectures) don't work.
Thanks, we'll look into that!
