Hi everybody! My name is Omar and I'm a grad student in Physics at UCSC. I work at the intersection of stat mech, information and TOC. More recently, I've worked on inferring probabilistic automata of the Ising model. I'm drawn to questions like: How are natural phenomena structured? How do agents discover new patterns in their environment without templates? A bit about myself: I enjoy playing bossa nova guitar,  running by the beach and (fun fact) I'm a twin! Excited to meet y'all!
